  • Responsibilities include strategic planning, budget forecasting, planning, and management of the IT budget of over 8 million.
  • Purchasing all hardware and software needs for the entire organization.
  • Responsible for all maintenance of hardware, software licenses, and contracts.
  • Liaison with vendors, consultants, and other police services across Canada on large provincial and common police services projects, as part of information sharing on IT strategic objectives in the policing environment.
  • Managing the IT infrastructure, which encompasses 29 buildings for both voice and data, and many mission-critical systems, such as the 911 system.
  • Full disaster recovery, high availability, in a virtualized environment.
  • Strategic planning on security needs and awareness, emerging technologies and keeping abreast of new changes in the 911 systems to help support and maintain the front-line officers in making their job more efficient and effective.
  • Responsible for managing and leading all technological projects within the service (full life cycle development) from initiation to deployment with timelines, resources and risk management as part of the project management methodology through PMI.
  • Strategic Planning- 3 to 5-year plan for I.T. updated yearly. Strategic plans include areas such as the IT Data Storage Strategy, Mobility Strategy, Cloud Governance Strategy, AI Strategy, Cyber Security Strategy, Business Continuity/DR Plan. 10-Year IT budget for all assets, including all endpoints. Over 10,000 endpoints supported for the service with 1600 members.
  • Responsible for all wireless equipment used in the uniform vehicles to access the 911 systems.
  • Managing a dedicated I.T. staff of 35 resources and multiple projects with resources from various functional lines in the organization.
  • Extensive experience in all areas of IT which includes (Security-(Firewall-Checkpoint, Sandblast, 2FA, IronPort, Trend), Mobility devices (Samsung Android, iPhones using Intunes and Defender with M365), SaaS cloud solutions, VMware (Virtualizations of our SANS, Servers), WIFI in all buildings, WAN topology Layer 2-3 with SDWAN and Dark fibre. MS Exchange, SharePoint, Office 365, and Avaya PBXs.
  • Development of Six Sigma metrics and measurements, both qualitative and quantitative, using the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control methodology.
