Throughout my time in university, I first got a feel for coaching by working at various basketball camps during my summers. During the shool year I was able to continue being involved in the community youth basketball program offered through the university. I then had the opportunity to learn from my university basketball coach, Rod Gilpin, by joining the Bishop's Women's Basketball coaching staff as an assistant coach after I graduated. At the same time, I started my teaching career at Alexander Galt, the local high school. Teaching also allowed me to continue exploring coaching and I am currently the lead basketball teacher in a sports program that is part of the Phys-Ed department. I work with students from grades 7-11 who have chosen to pursue basketball as an interest and passion. My teaching and coaching go hand in hand as I get to continue my school and community involvement.
