I have been and Operating Room Nurse for 25 years now, with 20 here at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. My Early years and experience starting as an Operating Room Nurse at Kingston General Hospital were crucial in shaping the OR Nurse I am today, over the years I have gained the organizational skills required to be effective and efficient in the fast paced environment that is the Operating Room. I have acquired a vast amount of knowledge over the years in a variety of services; General Surgery, Urology both Major and Minor, Cardiac, Vascular, Neuro, Orthopedics in both elective and Trauma situations.

I have expanded on this experience over my 20 years here at Lakeridge Health, while providing patient focused care, being a patient advocate and maintaining our ORNAC standards.

I have been a influential part of many of the various teams over the years to help strive for improvement and evolve with times and changes, some of my career was devoted to supporting Orthopedics being a secondary Resource Nurse and a liaison to the Bowmanville Orthopedic department for nursing support across sites.

Currently I am the Resource Nurse for General Surgery/Major Urology and Cystoscopy and have been in this position for the last 2 years, I have used my Nursing experience to organize and plan out the upcoming surgeries with the various team members to ensure effective and efficient use of OR time and appropriate timely care for patients. I have excellent communications skills, and a great working relationship with all levels of our vast OR team.
