⦁ Support youth clients aged 16-24, encompassing both males and females, who may present with mental health challenges, addiction issues, or require complex care, within the emergency bed shelter program.
⦁ Conduct room checks throughout shift to ensure client safety and security. Collaborate with the staff team to supervise clients during program activities and ensure the safe management of clients, the physical space, and essential care needs.
⦁ Maintain open communication with staff and complete daily logs before the end of each shift, documenting client interactions, incidents, concerns, or program deliverables that arise during the shift.
⦁ Provide support to staff in the daily routines of the shelter, including sanitization, food preparation, and the upkeep of common spaces.
⦁ Assist in case management tasks, including client intake and assessments, goal setting, safety planning and referrals to external resources.
⦁ Utilize interaction and verbal crisis intervention skills to de-escalate challenging situations, prioritizing a hands-off approach whenever possible.
⦁ Offer counseling and practical assistance to clients in their daily activities and self-care routines using a trauma-informed and harm reduction approach.
⦁ Respond promptly to emergency situations as part of a coordinated team effort, following agency procedures and protocols.
