The prime directive of the Lead SES is to accomplish the goals of Options for Youth and the clients which include: compliance in meeting IEP timelines, providing FAPE and meeting the needs of the students and clients. This position assists the Lead School Psychologist in managing the actions of the Special Education field staff, specifically the special education teachers, and works to ensure compliance with Special Education law. This position provides direct certificated instructional support when needed.

Developed and implemented compliant IEPs (30-Day Transfer, Annual, Triennial, Exit/Graduation, Addendum) and delivered goal-based Specialized Academic Instruction to students with learning disabilities. Led IEP and new student orientation meetings with families, staff, and service providers. Maintained confidential records, administered assessments, and tracked IEP goal progress. Coordinated evaluations and services with related providers and communicated regularly with parents regarding student progress. Supported academic programs within the blended model of independent study and direct instruction.

Delivered instruction and maintained classroom management in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring continuity of learning and student success. Implemented lesson plans, assigned classwork and homework, and communicated with teacher regarding curriculum, attendance, and behavior. Experienced in Special Day Class (SDC) and mild/moderate settings. Utilized proactive behavior strategies and positive reinforcement to keep students engaged and on-task. Maintained consistent routines to support a stable and structured learning environment.

Assisted in implementing daily instructional programs under the direction of the lead teacher, with attention to individual student needs and developmental levels. Supported student learning through personalized and small group instruction. Provided academic and behavioral support during class lessons, group activities, and one-on-one sessions to reinforce curriculum and promote student progress.
