  • Responsible for managing all Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) and Sickness and Accident (S&A) claims for Unionized (approx. 500 employees) and Non-Unionized employees (approx. 2000 employees) , implementing, monitoring and facilitating return to work programs primarily determining suitable job placements for employees with physical impairments matching physical demands of jobs with capabilities of employees. In addition, I am responsible for:
  • Deliver education and training to employees at all levels and contract employees on WSIB, S&A, Medical and Health & Safety processes
  • Consult/interact with on-site Physician, Occupational Health Registered Nurse and Physiotherapist on Disability Management
  • Chair the Occupational Rehabilitation meeting in relation to all WSIB and Sickness and Accident claims
  • Investigate Violence and Harassment claims
  • Investigating injury/illness claims to determine compatibility with accident history
  • Promoting pro-active interventions to eliminate/reduce workplace accidents
  • Analyze WSIB NEER statements
  • Represent the company in WSIB appeals
  • Supported remote facilities in other provinces with respect to injury management
  • Development and maintenance of databases used for injury reporting and injury management
