I am currently looking for a part time or full time HCA position in Calgary. Working with approximately 300 residents with different levels of care over the years has given me in-depth experience and I would love to continue caring for the elderly. I consider the physical, spiritual, and emotional well being of each individual to be of great importance so I want to be at my best each day for my shift. I have learnt alot over the years, become very intuative, and developed a set of skills that helps me ensure the needs of those under my care are met daily. I enjoy being a Health Care Aid and have gained a good understanding of how to take care of people in the best way possible. I find a great deal of purpose as a caregiver and highly regard the well being of those I work with. My objective is to provide efficient care that promotes the best quality of life as possible for people that have certain health limitations. Each day I want to encourage and assist the residents in continuing to use the abilities they still have so they can get exercise and stay engaged in every day living. My goal is for each person to enjoy the rest of their lives as much as possible within their comfort zone. I also like to make sure that I consider the personal preferences of those I care for wherever possible so that everyone feels understood. Encouraging residents to participate in activities that are good for their mental health such as recreation and social gatherings is important to do according their preference. Each person is special in their own way and I want each of them to feel valued as well as appreciated. I have learnt alot from the residents I have cared for over the years and the way they have impacted my life is one of the best parts of being an HCA to me. I really look forward to meeting residents, joining a care team, and beginning a new position in Calgary. I can begin working on April 17th or as soon as needed after an interview.
