  • In late 2018 Civility Experts Inc. CEO Dr. Lew Bayer approached me about consulting on projects related to manufacturing. Due to my 20+ years in the industry, in this role, I am considered a subject matter expert.
  • Support Civility Experts Inc. Worldwide 400+ affiliates/licensees in devising training solutions, workplace culture initiatives, and problem-solving strategies to build their businesses.
  • Consult on Civility Experts Inc. projects related to manufacturing, e.g., strategic thinking, workplace culture, union/management relationship building, implementing civility initiatives etc. To-date, consults have included work with clients such as Boeing, Argus Industries, Siemens, Aegis Trust, and others.
  • Deliver training for Masterclasses and Certification programs on problem-solving, systems-thinking, critical decision-making, and social intelligence in manufacturing environments.
  • Devised a comprehensive training program for incorporating civility into manufacturing environments, complete with signature feedback approach. Civility Experts is launching the program internationally, ICTC validation for Certified Manufacturing Civility Train the Trainer program pending. Pilot deliveries planned for Canada, US, Australia, and UK in 2020.

Conversions Supervisor Scotiabank Arena – BMO Field – Coca-Cola Coliseum

  • The role of Conversion Supervisor is crucial to the daily building operations of state-of-the-art sports and entertainment facilities. Success in the role means accurate and timely completion of arena floor and BMO Field conversions for all MLSE events including NHL hockey, NBA basketball, MLS soccer, CFL football, concerts, and family shows. In addition to managing conversion crew work assignments and management of the team, the role includes employee and building safety and liaison/communication between management and department personnel. I ensure strict adherence to standards and meet tight deadlines. The supervisor is responsible for 25+ full time and part-time employees under high stress, chronic change and demanding event schedules.
  • Lead hourly, part-time and contract workers in daily, pre-event, event and post-event conversion and set-up services for the Arena/Stadium and provide hands on training to the conversion team.
  • Work closely with Arena/Stadium management staff and department supervisors during event planning stages.
  • Anticipate and monitor manpower requirements per conversion to adequately staff throughout the entire season.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining up-to-date written policies and procedures.
  • Verify that policies regarding safety, productivity and reliability are enforced.
  • Select, train, motivate and evaluate staff; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline and termination procedures.
  • Created “Time Gated Schedules” that standardize a conversion according to time specific goals.
  • Enabled Board of Directors to better understand the conversion process and costs. (This achievement is an example of my Continuous Improvement skills to help all management and staff understand a standardized conversion process.)

Equipment Preventative Maintenance Supervisor – UP Express Trains
