SUMMARY
From retail aisles to dispatching domestic freight, my journey in Canada has been one of dedication, learning, and growth. After arriving in 2019, I began my career in customer service, developing communication and problem-solving skills while working in fast-paced environments like Walmart and Shoppers Drug Mart. My curiosity for logistics led me to complete a dispatching course in 2023, which launched my transition into the trucking industry.
I went on to manage dispatch operations for a small fleet of 5 to 7 trucks, where I coordinated schedules, booked loads, communicated with drivers, and gained hands-on experience with domestic logistics.
I thrive in dynamic environments, bring a proactive attitude, and have a strong commitment to ensuring that every shipment runs smoothly and efficiently.
Dispatcher Small Fleet Company (5-7 trucks)
Mississauga, ON
Date: Jan 2023- Till now
In a small fleet, every truck matters, and as a city dispatcher, I was the person making sure each one moved with purpose. Every morning began with a plan: mapping out local deliveries, matching the right driver to the right route, and adjusting schedules to meet tight delivery windows.
But no two days were the same. A late shipment, sudden traffic jam, or vehicle issue could throw everything off. That’s where I thrived — thinking quickly, rerouting drivers in real time, and keeping both the customer and driver in the loop. I juggled phones, dispatch software, and GPS tracking while staying calm and focused under pressure.
With only a handful of trucks in the fleet, I learned to stretch resources, optimize fuel usage, and avoid empty miles. I built strong relationships with drivers, understanding their routes and working styles, which helped me dispatch more efficiently and keep morale high.
Whether it was updating clients, managing paperwork, or coordinating last-minute loads, I kept the wheels turning, and the service dependable.
