The Patrol Staff Sergeant holds responsibility for the performance, conduct and discipline of all personnel assigned to operational platoons within the service, while providing instruction, guidance and oversight in accordance with law and the standard operating procedures of the Timmins Police Service.
The Professional Standards Officer holds responsibility for the performance, good conduct and discipline of all personnel within the Timmins Police Service, while providing instruction, guidance and oversight in accordance with law and the standard operating procedures of the Timmins Police Service.
The Patrol Sergeant (Platoon Supervisor) holds responsibility for the performance, conduct and discipline of a platoon of uniformed police officers while providing instruction, guidance and oversight in accordance with law and the standard operating procedures of the Timmins Police Service.
The Constable – Criminal Investigation Division holds responsibility for the detailed investigation of criminal offences and provision of investigative support services for other staff within the Timmins Police Service
To serve and protect the community and to improve, maintain and ensure the quality of life for all. Preserve the peace;

Assist victims;
Apprehend criminals and other offenders and others who may lawfully be taken into custody;
Execute warrants;

Perform lawful duties as designated by the Chief of Police;
Plan activities within assigned area;
Facilitate and promote community policing;
Develop and maintain positive relationships with the diverse community;
Interview, interrogate, investigate;
Accurately assess the need for further intervention and/or diversion;
Assist other primary agencies such as fire or ambulance;
Know and perform duties specified in the Timmins Police Service Standard Operating Procedures
