Work History

Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineer Summer Co-op Student

University of British Columbia
05.2022 - 08.2022
  • Performed tap test on tools to measure the Frequency Response Function (FRF) of machines and use the data to conduct Modal Analysis and find Stability Lobes using CutPro software, observing tool vibrations and metal (mostly Al7050) cutting mechanics.
  • Executed cutting tests with CNC machine using CutPro software, measuring cutting forces with dynamometers, vibrations with accelerometers and laser sensors.
  • Created an Excel graph template to visualize Stability Lobes and cutting test data for better comparison, saving analysis time for tests with numerous data points.
  • Designed workpieces using SolidWorks and Siemens NX CAD software, and defined tool paths using Siemens NX CAM software.
  • Adjusted G- and M-Codes for CNC Machining provided by NX CAM to suit cutting conditions.
  • Proven ability to learn quickly and adapt to new situations.

Mechanical Designer Intern

AME Consulting Group
01.2021 - 12.2021
  • Designed plumbing, HVAC, and fire protection systems on AutoCAD and Revit MEP with other mechanical designers, improving CAD and 3D modelling skills as well as teamwork skills
  • Calculated heating and cooling loads using Trace 700 (IES) and Microsoft Excel
  • Used computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed drawings and schematics of mechanical systems.
  • Developed communication documentation to help convey key design aspects to clients.
  • Developed manufacturing drawings and oversaw teams of technicians in construction of systems.
  • Coordinated with other engineering professionals to coordinate operation of mechanical systems.
  • Researched new technologies related to mechanical engineering to improve designs and processes.
  • Received feedback on being the fastest intern to become profitable for the company.

Research & Development Intern

Altan Hydraulics Inc.
05.2019 - 06.2019
  • Measured and modeled hose fittings for industrial and military cars’ piping and heating systems on SolidWorks, improving CAD modeling skills.
  • Measured and checked products to verify that they are within the design tolerance.
  • Proposed a check-up model to prevent errors occurring at pressing operation, which was presented to the customer and received approval, maintaining the company’s relationship with the client.
  • Helped meet changing demands by recommending improvements to business systems or procedures by interpreting my international perspective.
  • Took part in the preparation of the risk assessment table and found solutions for incorrect labeling & pressing, saving manufacturing time and increasing client satisfaction.
