Summary

I am applying for a casual or part-time position with your team because your mission and vision aligns with my values and experience. As you’ll see from my resume, what motivates me is working for organizations, like yours, that serve a higher purpose and aim to alleviate community stress.

I would love to bring my skills and experience to get involved with your team and program. In addition to my years of experience and education with the University of Regina Faculty of Social Work, I have strong interpersonal and communication skills that allow me to adapt to any group or situations. Abilities in time management, empathetic listening, and cultural humility, supported by ongoing self-reflection have also helped me to build working relationships and achieve meaningful change.

As I enter the world of social work, I hope to continue examining social issues and listening to those that are willing to share. The power of storytelling lives on. I have began the journey of self reflection to understand my privilege in the world. Acknowledging positionality has been a valuable lesson as I unearth social issues and how the affect the community of Saskatoon and surrounding areas. I am indulged in learning more about the history of colonization and hope to work within Indigenous communities to discuss acts of reconciliation and healing.
