Currently employed as an Armed Nuclear Security Officer on the Nuclear Response Force for Ontario Power Generation (OPG), a member and selected 2023/2024 exercise team leader for the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commissions (CNSC) Canadian Adversary Testing Team (CATT) with over 7 years of prior military experience serving as a full-time Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) medical technician. My experiences from OPG, CATT and the CAF have attributed to the obtainment of well-developed transferable skills, abilities, and experiences along with ingrained integrity, respect, situational awareness, professionalism, and ultimately the dedication to mission success through risk and vulnerability assessments while considering unique safety and security measures.

Armed Nuclear Security Officer

  • Trained in use of force, dynamic entries during close quarter battle using explosive distraction devices, stealth search techniques, Immediate rapid deployment, Injured person recovery, containment, high risk vehicle stops and effective management of disorderly crowds with an emphasis on the ability to change force options quickly and effectively if/when situation dictates while constantly providing tactical communications to subject
  • Provide protection against theft, sabotage, terrorism, espionage, illegal entry, vandalism and assault.
  • Participate in security drills, practical exercises and required training programs. Currently completed 3 CNSC exercises one of which as the team leader
  • Maintain Level 2 Security Clearance/ Maintain current policies governing nuclear security operations set by Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission
  • Perform site patrols during the day, low light and hot-wet-cold conditions to enforce OPG procedures and regulations, respond to alarms, threats, medical emergencies and continuously inspect for potential suspicious activity
  • Maintain periodic qualification of armed response, physical fitness and weapon requirements and maintained required qualifications for site access.
  • Monitor status of equipment, daily activities, property damage and report deficiencies to manager

QL5 Medical Technician

  • Qualified Primary Care Paramedic responsible for providing first line emergent and non-emergent medical care to soldiers in hazardous and challenging environments such as Arctic Operations
  • Employed as an infantry company medic, platoon medic, armoured vehicle crew commander, dismounted medic, and clinical medic responsible for the care of up to 100 members, often working independently with no supervision
  • As an armoured vehicle crew commander, demonstrated proficient radio procedure skills, evasive and defensive mobility, navigation skills, and responsible for maintaining appropriate escalation of force by manning the C6 machine gun simultaneously
  • Maintain peak level of physical fitness and always operate to a high standard during demanding conditions such as limited rest or inclement weather
  • Respond to emergencies by coordinating evacuation of ground or air with company leadership and communicating vulnerabilities and safety concerns to senior ranking officers and non-commissioned members before task commences during orders, during task and in after action reports
