Summary

I have been a permanent teacher with the Rainbow District School Board since 2004. I have taught students from kindergarten to grade 8. Many of my roles have centred around literacy and language intervention and instruction, behaviour, communications, and social skills. In 2005, I was one of 9 teachers selected to participate in the Secretariat Literacy Project wherein we were asked to share our expertise in writing with colleagues at varying schools. Subsequently, I have had roles as an Early Reading Intervention Teacher, Special Education Resource Teacher, Literacy Resource Teacher, and Intensive Support Program Teacher for students with autism. My current role is Early Intervention Teacher. I also recently completed the 2023-2025 Future Leaders Program. I am committed to professional learning and growth. I possess primary, junior, and senior qualifications as well as Specialists in Special Education and Music (Vocal). Additionally, I completed Parts 1 and 2 of Teaching English Language Learners in June and August 2024. Next steps are to obtain my intermediate qualifications as well as Parts 1 and 2 of the Principal's Qualification Program by August 2026.
