Passive Sampling of COVID-19 in Wastewater Los Angeles, CA Potential of Indirect Protective Mechanisms Against Plant Pathogenesis Los Angeles, CA

Objective: Compare three different passive materials, medical gauze, electronegative filter membranes, and cotton buds to determine best sampling material for COVID detection

· Deployed a torpedo device into sewer manhole to allow the device to interact with wastewater from UCLA dorms

· Performed viral concentration, RNA extraction and qPCR

· Compared passive sample N1 protein quantities collected using each material

Objective: Determine observable antipathogenic properties in samples collected from recovering ecosystems with varying levels of vegetation growth
