Assists in activities of daily living:

• Showers/Bath(Bed Baths), Teeth Hygiene, Shaving (Where applicable),
• AM&HS Care
• Ostomy Care
• Filling & Care with/of Oxygen tanks
• Transfers
• Dementia

In partnership with coworkers / where applicable individually providing a person-center care approach attending to the needs of the residents while using the DIPPS approach:

• Assist in activities of daily living (Overall Care of Hygiene, Toileting, Lifts and Transfers, Dietary needs, Oxygen Tank refilling)
• Provides emotional/social support for residents alongside family/loved ones and meets their requirements as needed
• Assist in End of Life protocols: Following resident's wishes alongside guidelines of the home and ministry cleaning body, reading the honour guard and more
• Collecting bagging soiled linen for dispatch to laundry, sorting and storing linen for transmission to laundry
• Bedmaking, cleaning bedside units, emptying bedpans, removal of unsafe objects
• Assists with admission discharges and transfer of residents of transporting residents to programs, visits or dining rooms
• Respond to call bells, monitoring and assisting residents with responsive behaviours
• Update to date and accurate documentation
• The yearly online training course provided through Surge learning online: Hand hygiene, IPAC, Abuse, Prevention and Reporting amongst others
• Assist with Medication where under scope of practice

Under the direction of the registered nursing staff and in partnership with the PSW, provides support to promote the comfort and safety of the residents:

• Provides physical assistance to residents with PSW as required and under the direction of nursing
• Transfers, Lifts and second care provider with assigned tasks: positioning client
  Bedmaking, cleaning bedside units, emptying bedpans, removal of unsafe objects
• Collecting bagging soiled linen for dispatch to laundry, sorting and storing linen for transmission to laundry
• Assists with admission discharges and transfer of residents of transporting residents to programs, visits or dining rooms
• Collaborating with PSW, documentation responsibilities will include meals, snacks and fluids.
• Provides emotional/social support for resident
