Engineering Design II Project (Baseball Player Toy

  • Collaborated in a team of 4 to design, prototype, test, and build a 3D-printed mechanical toy that when disassembled fit in a Kinder Egg capsule and when assembled was taller than the egg and could accurately throw a ball at the Kinder Egg 2 meters away.
  • Used SolidWorks to design and 3D-print every component of the toy.
  • Presented the Baseball Player Toy on Engineering Design Day at the University of Guelph to a panel of judges as well as an audience of peers and professors. Our team achieved 2nd place overall out of over 150 groups competing in the competition.

  • Used SolidWorks / AutoCAD to design 3D printed parts to customize the vehicle’s chassis.
  • Prototyped different launchers and chassis to complete the challenges of maneuvering through
    the obstacle course and overcoming the launching height – led to a perfect 30/30 score in the
    launching portion of the competition.
