• Promotion of patients’ health and prevention of diseases by completing the nursing duties; collaborating with physicians, midwives, medical technicians and nursing aids; providing physical and psychological support to patients, families, relatives and friends; and supervising other health members
• Establishing rapport and providing good communication skills to patients and their relatives in a way that they will understand the procedures and management that will be done to them
• Establish a compassionate environment by providing holistic support to patients and relatives
• Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards and following rules and regulations of the facility
• Do nursing procedures such as: taking and recording vital signs; assessment and history taking; transferring patient from wheelchair to bed and vice versa; insertion and removal of Foley catheter; changing of nasogastric tube; wound cleaning and dressing; carrying out doctor’s orders; administering oral, intradermal, intramuscular, subcutaneous and intravenous medications as per doctor’s order; establishing IV line; oral and nasal suctioning; assisting doctors on wound suturing and removal of suture and other necessary procedures ordered by the physician on duty, assisting in intubation, CPR and transporting patient to tertiary hospital.
• Ensure understanding of health teachings rendered to patients and relatives for home medications, wound care, compliance to laboratory and diagnostic work-up and follow-up check-up to their respective doctors
• Documents patient care services through nurses notes
• Maintains cleanliness and safety of work area
• Performs inventory of stocks, medical supplies and office supplies
• Prepares monthly reports

** 300 bed capacity Tertiary Hospital wherein we function as substitute Emergency Staff Nurse due to their under staffing, our company is affiliated to Hospital of Makati, however City Government is a different sector **

• Collects current symptoms, as well as a detailed patient history and then consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans
• Performs triage, while considering both physical and psychosocial elements
• Manages basic life support needs and stabilizes patients until the attending physician is available, based upon nursing standards and protocol
• Initiates corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology
• Records patients’ current vital signs
• Works directly under physicians, assisting them during exams, diagnostic testing and treatments
• Prepares and administers (orally, subcutaneously, through an IV) and records prescribed medications
• Reports adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications by a licensed registered nurse
• Provides IV therapy
• Assist in Intubation, Nasogastric tube insertion, Intra Foley catheter insertion, Electrocardiogram, Nebulization
• Cleans and bandages wounds
• Provides basic, bedside care
• Maintains proper supplies and appropriate medical equipment to care for patients
• Reports any suspected abuse to the appropriate agencies
• Initiates patient education plan, as prescribed by physician
• Teaches patients and significant others how to manage their illness/injury, by explaining: post-treatment home care needs, diet/nutrition/exercise programs, self-administration of medication and rehabilitation, as well as provides referrals to other healthcare professionals for follow-up treatment
• Displays professionalism while completing multiple urgent tasks in a timely manner
• Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms

• Assist in the implementation of various Health Programs of the Local Government Unit in accordance with the program goals and objectives of DOH and Health Sector
• Initiating prenatal check-up to pregnant patients and regular home visits
• Conducting mother’s class once a month
• Promoting breast feeding for children less than 2 years old
• Conducting immunization for children under the target age of EPI
• Regular home visits for defaulters
• Ensure understanding of health teachings rendered to patients and relatives for home medications, wound care, compliance to laboratory and diagnostic work-up and follow-up check-up
• Monitoring all the 4ps members and NHTS families

**All of the Student Nurses have their Nursing staff shadow each facility while performing all the duties as Student Nurse**
