was a research assistant during the summers for a lab investigating spinal cord injury where I:

  • Participated actively in weekly lab meetings with fellow researchers to discuss project updates, challenges faced, and lessons learned during ongoing activities.
  • Autoclaved needed supplies for ongoing experiments
  • Assisted in projects lead by fellow lab members
  • Developed my critical thinking skills where I learned how projects are planned and what materials / tasks need to be done well ahead of time to plan for each step
  • Consulted SOPs for protocols in staining, surgical room set up, etc.
  • Contributed to the publication of research articles in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Conducted literature reviews to support hypothesis development and identify gaps in existing knowledge.
  • Utilized statistical software for data analysis, including Leica, FIJI, and Prism
  • Coordinated with external research partners to develop a quantification software

I worked alongside tradesmen from several backgrounds. My role was to deliver supplies to different jobsites in a prompt and efficient manner. I was also responsible for doing daily safety checks on the companies vehicles and equipment. During my time at L&M ditching I:

  • Assisted in meeting project deadlines by delivering a crews required materials on time.
  • Demonstrated versatility by adapting to multiple trades needs and changing job site requirements.
  • Demonstrated safe and proper operation of equipment and diligent PPE adherence to prevent harm to myself and my team members.
  • Adapted quickly to changing project requirements, demonstrating flexibility and resourcefulness in adjusting schedules and priorities accordingly. I learned to seamlessly and promptly adapt the crews equipment / supplies as needed.
  • Conducted comprehensive site and vehicle evaluations before project initiation, identifying potential hazards in advance.

I was both a server and the recipient for all the pick up and delivery calls during my shifts. This job allowed me to develop many skills including:

  • Demonstrating strong multitasking skills by managing multiple tables simultaneously without compromising service quality.

  • Setting a positive tone for as the first point of contact for incoming guests and for guests who phoned in for their orders

I learned how to communicate clearly, effectively and positively over the phone while taking orders and managing customers concerns as one of my main duties at this position.
