Responsible for hiring, training, and managing 20 staff and operations of DISH Restaurant and Knotted Thistle Pub.
Assisting the manager with organization of 50+ events. Continually, I scheduled staff and manage the team side of the job. I was the point of contact during events for event coordinators/planners as well as back of house staff to front of house staff. Other responsibilities included, training new staff, helping on the floor or in the kitchen, making sure cash outs were done correctly, cashing out front of house tips, ensuring customers are happy, and ensuring that food goes out correctly, timely, and within food safe regulations for buffets.
I was approached to take over the Executive Assistant position after the person holding the position moved. Since it was a finite position, I had to learn quickly and make sure I knew the position well so I could train a new person adequately when they were hired in the spring. In this role I answered phone and emails, ensured posters and in house marketing was current, attended and took minutes for weekly leadership meetings. Other tasks included helping with filing, delivering account payables, ordering office, desk, and specialty supplies as well as creating signature cocktail drinks and assisting with menu design for The Spike.
I began as a Client Ambassador & Key Holder and then joined the production team as I was interested in learning more about other aspects of the company. I provided hands-on support during peak production periods, assisting teams in meeting tight deadlines.
I started as an event and retail staff April 2019, where I helped run the tap room, set up and sold products at the Regina, Regina Beach Farmers Markets and one-off events. I was quickly promoted to a Summer Events Coordinator position where I scheduled all event and retail staff as well as assisted in the hiring and training new staff. I also helped with inventory, secured liquor permits, and learned their accounting system.
I was responsible for creating the front of house and back of house schedules, assisting with produce orders, supporting staff, running orders and bartending when needed. I learned the most about hands on service recovery and resolved guests complaints while maintaining positive customer environment.
Volunteer Management – orientation, scheduling and supporting over100 volunteers for the South and North Bike Tour. If any hiccups occurred day of the event, I was able to reconstruct my schedule to ensure there was proper manpower in each role.
Managing Third-Party Fundraisers - I was also responsible for all third-party fundraisers including leading the Burgers to Beat MS day with A&W restaurants throughout Saskatchewan. This included strong communication and coordination with national MS and A&W staff
Administration - deposits for the Regina office, setting up third party liquor and gaming permits, and ordering office supplies. I also learned the ECRM accounting system, entered data, generated reports, and produced tracking documents.
Prior to my time as an employee for the MS Society, I attended countless MS Walk and Bike events (more than 15) as a participant, volunteer, committee member, and a day of Volunteer Coordinator (2016-2018)
