This summer will be my first year looking for employment, so I have no professional experience to add, I am hoping this opportunity will be the start of a well rounded resume that I can proudly submit to future employers to show my dedication early on to my goals.

I am calm and focused in stressful situations. My mom is a nurse at NRGH and my father a paramedic with BCAS in Nanaimo, so I have been taught by them to always stop, think and act, not react in situations of stress or urgency.

I believe swimming is a vital and necessary skill for safety around water. And am committed to learning to promote safety for all people around all bodies of water.

I work well as a part of a team and relate well to people of all ages and backgrounds.

I am dedicated to achieving the Life Guard goals provided by this experience you are offering, should I be accepted. My hope is to be employed with The City of Nanaimo as a lifeguard throughout my years ahead in high school, as well as my years at VIU while I pursue a degree in Education and I feel in it's entirety this experience will benefit my career plans in the future.
