Hardworking, dedicated horsewoman not afraid of long hours/ working in all elements. I have 16 years of riding experience, with 10 of those years working in the industry in different capacities, including with FEI and GP riders. Primarily english riding experience in the Hunter/Jumper discipline, but proficient in western riding as well. I also have significant experience in customer service, with most in a supervisory capacity. Currently in university with plans to attend medical school.
- Backing and producing young sport horses, including more difficult stock, exercising each horse daily.
- Designing intricate feed plans appropriate for each horse and managing horses with chronic conditions such as Cushing's Disease, Shivers, and Ulcers.
- Equine first aid, including emergency colic care, IM/IV administration of medication, and care of horses on stall rest due to injury.
- Sole charge of management and daily chores.
- Occasional coaching of clients on horses in for training.
- Daily chores inc stall mucking, feeding, grooming, turn in/out.
- Preparation of sales horses for viewings inc body clipping.
- Assisting head trainer in handling, backing, and producing young sport horses straight from the fields.
- Handling of foals inc for veterinary care.
- Sole charge of exercising horses and long hacks along the country, sometimes on more difficult stock.
- Daily chores inc mucking stalls, feeding, turn out/in, grooming.
- Handling mares and foals inc assisting foaling out mares/ assisting head veterinarian with putting mares in foal.
- Assisting head veterinarian with Pre-Purchase exams inc with radiographs, flexion tests, blood drawing etc.
- Breezing/exercising of thoroughbreds up the track daily.
- Caring for cattle on the farm inc assisting head veterinarian with calving season.
