As a Youth Services Officer, I maintain order and security of the prison facility whilst also ensuring the health, safety, and rights of the youth are being upheld and protected. This position allows me to work with and counsel a diverse group of youth who are at serious risk with the law. We teach the youth pro-social skills to lower their chances of re-offending, ensure they are receiving the clinical help that matches their treatment needs whilst also preparing them for the transition of going back into the community post-release.

As a Recreation Officer, I facilitate daily recreation programming through the creation and implementation of games/activities. I lead all recreational programs which range from sports, to weightlifting, to outdoor activities and to arts & crafts. My objective is to ensure an environment that is inclusive, engaging and fun for all. It is also imperative to coordinate recreational programs that liberate the youth through implementation of activities/games that are reflective of cultural based values. My job being in a high risk setting it is important to ensure the safety and security of all youth, fellow staff and recreation areas/property when on duty.

Responsible for maintaining the inventory and cleanliness of my department, inclusive of restocking high-demand product and keeping our work area tidy. I also lead by example in demonstrating professional and efficient customer service, which is why I am accountable for training new employees.

Organized and instructed weekly training sessions for youth ages 6-15. Provided support and guidance to kids in developing their soccer skills and teamwork. Provided ongoing direction and leadership for program operations. Designed program implementation and maintenance plan.

My tasks as a Law Firm summer student included administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, organizing and preparation of case files as well as the added responsibility of delivering documents to courtrooms and banks in a timely fashion to secure deals.

As a member of a privately-owned lawn care and landscaping business, professionalism, attention to detail, and respect of client property were essential. My roles included weed spraying, bug extermination, cutting lawns, weed whacking, and lawn aeration - all under minimal supervision.
