  • Create DDLs for new tables and deploy into test environments

  • Backup and Restore of production data to a Test environment for Year end activity for audit purposes
  • Copy of database to several environments and incorporate Test Data as defined by the Business for Testing in each environment
  • Sanitize accounts for test environments before copying
  • Program paths for each transaction functionality for database tables
  • Create/Update/Use JCLs for copy functionality and for backups , Refreshes, Restore, Runstats, Reorg and Checkdata
  • Manage the mailbox for requests coming from the Business with an hour turnaround time frame

  • Participated in the Disaster Recovery of the DB2 databases, created Testplans, took baselines before Disaster Recovery
  • Executed Testplans during Disaster Recovery and compared against baseline
  • Any issues encountered immediately escalated to Project Manager and followed through to find solution to the problem

  • On-call for any implementations I scheduled and also once a month according to the on-call schedule

  • This required a good understanding of requests and a good background for the database platforms
  • Delegated tasks to a specific DBA group according to requests and created calendar entries for the DBAs to carry out assigned tasks
  • Created Data Models or modified existing Data Models for new Business Functionality
  • Mentored new DBA with DBA processes and provided documentation on processes for a task request from the onset from taking task from Task Log Tool, following up with Business all the way to completion of task and documenting the change made
  • This provided a good foundation and knowledge for future requests that this DBA would be assigned
