A rare teacher with over 45 years of dedicated practice and 10 years of teaching. Brenda is known for her deep knowledge and wisdom and effortlessly weaves ancient concepts into each class. Her classes are welcoming, safe and accessible to all from beginner to expert. A class with Brenda is both an event and an experience which resonates well beyond your time together. Together you discover greater awareness and ease of mind, body and spirit. Her mantra: growing stronger from the inside out.
Taught throughout Covid via zoom with some in person classes. The past 2 years all in person leading restorative, gentle, meditation and Hatha beginner to advanced.
Brenda was introduced to pranayama practices by her pediatric nurse as a toddler managing severe, chronic ashma. Good fortune arrived as a young athlete, when her track coach introduced meditation and asana practices. These elements were the foundation to winning various provincial titles in track and eventually making the national team.
Under challenging circumstances Brenda worked and trained through university, relying on her well formed practices. Practices that later informed her roles in marriage, motherhood, owner of a high end cookshop and restaurant, coach and yoga teacher.
Creating strong relationships with customers in her shop and restaurant prepared and help guide her into developing the same with students and retreat attendees.
Living most of her life in and through trauma; from childhood neglect and violence, to various head injuries, to surviving an explosion when her home blew up, Brenda knows first hand the healing power of yoga. Brenda is the real deal.
