Duration; January-April, 2024

-During my long-term care clinical placement, I provided care for older adults with diverse health needs, including dementia and limited mobility. This experience deepened my understanding of holistic, patient-centered care and strengthened my skills in communication, empathy, and supporting residents' daily living activities in a compassionate and respectful manner.

-Provided perineal care to patients, utilized lifts to help patients perform activities of daily living, developed therapeutic relationships with patients to provide care, performed vital signs and head-to-toe assessments then interpreted and charted my findings and created care plans for patients.

Duration; September-December, 2024

- In this clinical placement I cared for patients with a variety of respiratory and cardiac conditions as their primary diagnoses. This experience allowed me to develop my nursing skills, enhance my understanding of complex medical conditions, and provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

- Provided perineal care to patients, utilized lifts to help patients perform activities of daily living, developed therapeutic relationships with patients to provide care, performed vital signs and head-to-toe assessments then interpreted and charted my findings, created care plans, performed blood glucose monitoring tests, administered nasogastric, intravenous and oral medications, performed nasogastric tube insertion and catheterization and also performed wound care using sterile technique.
