Casual Jail Guard

In January of 2024, I was hired as a Casual Jail Guard by the Camrose Police Service. It is an on-call position which involves:
- Randomized shift hours, including night shifts occasionally
- Stressful situations with prisoners, such as those who are under the influence
- Responsibilities such as giving meals and taking notes on prisoners.

For Almost a year I worked in the garage part of Kal-Tire in Camrose.
In this position I:
- Rotated, mounted and balanced tires on cars, trucks, and vans.
- Replaced and repaired tires using best practices for safe vehicle maintenance.
- Dismounted, mounted, and repaired tires according to manufacturer specifications.
- Improved customer satisfaction by providing timely and accurate tire services.

During the summer a few years ago, my first part-time job was with a small local landscaping company based out of Wetaskiwin, AB. This job involved:

I have just finished my first year at the University of Alberta: Augustana Campus, completing many tough courses and assignments. This year I completed courses such as Statistics, Psychology, Sociology, Intro to French, and Indigenous Studies. I completed many assignments, papers, and presentations, handing all of them in on time.

I graduated with a high school diploma achieving honours in my grade 10, 11, and 12 years. I took a wide variety of non-core courses such as instrumental music, building construction, electrical, and welding in my grade 9 year .
Skills
- Leadership: Whether it be in extracurricular sports such as hockey or baseball, or school, I often find myself stepping up among peers and friends to be a leader in stressful and important situations
- Technological Expertise: Through my own learning I have developed a steady knowledge and understanding of technology and some computer software I also have some experience using video editing software
- Trade Skills: I have experience in trade skills such as mechanics, carpentry, landscaping, welding, and some electrical knowledge
Additional Information
During the summer of 2023 I attended the RCMP Depot Youth Camp at K Division headquarters in Edmonton, AB. This camp was a 5 day experience which consisted of police related activities and team building exercises. During this camp I was appointed to the position of "Right Post" and took on a leadership role among my troop.
