I am a transpersonal, experiential, trauma-informed therapist who understands that vulnerable connection is the key to all healing. True love for self is the first step to true love for an other. Aloneness is the guardian of despair and fear is the thief of joy.
My several decades of life, experienced in ways that many cannot comprehend, have given me understanding and awareness that serves me well in my practise. I offer myself to first responders of all types, including police, paramedics, firefighters and military personnel, and have experienced many successes with female and male clients of all ages and life situations.
I live my life with the full understanding that there is always something more for me to know and feel. Curiosity is the warrior of truth and love ALWAYS wins.
My police career saw me working with the broken and hurting much differently from that of a therapist, but the skills I learned there serve me well in every session with a client. I connect, validate, and empathize in ways that many cannot. I worked in many different areas but those that serve me best today involved a lot of trauma, anger, and fear.
I was trained as a crime scene examiner (CSI) and have attended and documented many homicide, suicide and traumatic death situations in that capacity.
As a fatal traffic accident investigator, it was my duty to attend and investigate sudden death car accidents and deal with properly identifying the cause of the death and also liaise with the family of the deceased.
I worked in Major Crimes and was assigned to the Child Abuse team. It was a regular part of my assignment to assist with robberies, sexual assaults, and homicides, but my Child Abuse investigations were the most righteous work I ever did as a police officer. My ability to win trust and connect with abused children and their families clearly demonstrated a deep connection and commitment to those living in fear, anger, confusion, or aloneness. I have been a Child Exploitation Subject Matter Expert for over 20 years, as that work continued when I retired from the CPS and became a Private Investigator.
I continued on this path of serving the hurting people in our world when I became the detective in charge of the Technological Crimes Unit for the Calgary Police Service. Computers are an amazing boon to our world, but they can be used to cause harm, and instill fear in young and old alike in ways that are hard to put into words.
I have been a practicing Therapist since January 2018. At that time I was working full time as an Investigator for a software company and continuing my learning as a workshop assistant, facilitator, producer, and instructor shadow for Clearmind International.
Since that time I continued to work as a full time Investigator, continued to see clients in my spare time, and maintained my currency as a therapist with weekend workshops, supervision, and additional training as it became available and feasible. I became a suicide and homicide grief support group facilitator for the BC Bereavement Helpline after completing their Traumatic Loss Facilitator Training. I am currently one of few they turn to for homicide grief support group facilitation. As a result of my involvement with the BCBH I have found myself elected as the President of the Board of Directors, since January 2023.
I was released from my Investigator job in December 2022, and have been moving into full time therapy work since that time. I am part way through my Level 1 AEDP training, am registered for group supervision, am seeing clients regularly, and have recently registered with Psychology Today to generate more exposure for my practise.

I love to be active, and will participate in any activity that requires physical activity. Outdoor pursuits are preferred but I also love to dance, and play indoor sports when the weather is averse.
I have always been aware that my body is a temple that needs to be cared for, and I celebrate my blessing of exceptional good health.
I am deeply committed to my role as a therapist. I believe I have been blessed with gifts of understanding, courage, vulnerability, and strength. I also believe I have a duty to share my blessings with those who struggle with life, and need courageous heartfelt connection with someone who is patient and non judgemental. I am called to be a helper, and have answered that call my whole life. I am excited to see where that calling takes me next.
