To obtain a position utilizing the abilities I have developed through education and experience in customer service and administration.
As the Health Navigator for Taykwa Tagamou Nation I serve as a Intermediate between Clients in the community and Healthcare providers, as well as Community Resources by Collaborating with other TTN departments in reaching program goals. My goal in this role is to reduce barriers to care, improve client understanding, and coordinating services for our members. I work with our members to maintain their trust to advocate, guide, liaison to ensure Culturally safe, timely & appropriate care. I am more able to utilize my organizational, and social ability to help clients feel at ease, which helps when advocating on a case by case basis. The role of Health Navigator is new for TTN, so I am able to create the process to work with other health providers, as well as create documents specific to the role; Consent forms, intake forms & being able complete more outreach for our community.
In this role as the Program Administrative Assistant I was the support to both the Health Director and the Midwife in the Midwifery Department at Taykwa Tagamou Nation, I helped with the documentation and implementation on program participation, and Administrative tasks for the Director. This was a short but informative position, however I was not being utilized in the manner I am accustomed to, so I made the lateral move to the Health Navigator.
