I have overcome significant challenges in my life, including being born with club feet and being born deaf. After undergoing a series of operations on both my feet and ears as a young child, I was able to walk straight for the first time at the age of 10 and hear for the first time at the age of 12. Having been unable to find a foster home for me, social services placed me in independent living at the age of 13. Unfortunately, soon after that, I experienced a traumatic event when I was kidnapped, almost killed, and left for dead in the mountains. Despite living in fear for a significant part of my life, I eventually found the strength to forgive and let go of the past, which I consider one of my greatest accomplishments. In addition, I persevered through my education, and upon graduating, I received a 15 minute standing ovation from my classmates for not giving up. At the age of 25, I made the decision to quit drinking and using drugs, marking a significant turning point in my life. I pursued higher education in criminology and studied human behavior and English, eventually transferring to a university to further my studies in criminology and the impact of cause and effect in people's lives. During my studies, I also pursued acting as a background actor for TV and film while relocating to Nanaimo, BC, where I met my now-wife. Today, I have achieved success by establishing my own television station and a film production company focused on First Nation's projects.

• Filming can be a daunting task with long hours, and some crew members may miss what they want to do after work, like attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. Being the first production company to allow AA meetings to be held onsite for members to attend. December 11, 2023, will be 38 years of sobriety.
