Main duty’s

• Read and interpret engineered drawings, blueprints, or welding process specifications with minimal

supervision.

• Competent at efficiently and timely fitting and welding all parts designated for L1 by Supervisor.

• Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such

as gas metal arc (GMAW), flux-cored arc (FAW), shielded metal arc (SMAW), and oxy-acetylene (OAW).

• Operate hand and bench grinder to shape and prepare metal parts for welding.

• Operate metal shaping or cutting machines such as bandsaw, and other metal straightening and

bending machines.

• Operate flame/plasma cutting equipment for repairs.

• Operate material handling devices such as; overhead crane, gantry crane, and forklift in compliance

with applicable safety standards and best practices. Material handling includes safe rigging and

transportation of various loads.

• Assist with equipment/product repairs as needed.

• Document Engineering Change Requests according to applicable procedures under direction of

Supervisor.

• Adopt and practice good housekeeping, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing principles

• Abide by all applicable regulatory and company-specific safety standards.

• Contribute to continual improvement of safety, quality, product, production, and work environment.

• Read & understand shop fabrication drawings with thorough interpretation of welding symbols

• Operate production equipment through a variety of physical tasks, which results in a defects free automotive structural component
• More specifically:
• Operate previously set up welding machines such as spot, MIG or gas welding machines to fabricate metal parts. o Operates metal shaping machines such as presses, lasers, shears, and bending machines. o Start up, shut down, and monitor robotic welding production line, lasers, presses, and benders. o Load and unload various parts into welding machines, lasers, presses, and benders. o Inspect parts for proper dimensions and various defects. o Participates in preventative and regular maintenance, as well as troubleshooting activities associated with the cell at the direction and discretion of the Team Leader. o Operates manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal inert gas (MIG) process. o Taking part in training to perform repair welding on defect welds of metal products by holding manual
• MIG welding equipment at various positions and welding on extra layers. o Inspects welded surfaces or structures to discover possible flaws and various defects.
• Actively participate in the development and achievement of the team quality goals and objectives, actively works to meet production goals and achieving equipment cycle time requirements.
• Follows established quality procedure, environmental procedure and applicable operator instruction in the production of the part.
• May be required to demonstrate and/or instruct other team members on a variety of processes, tasks, equipment operation, rules, procedures or general company information as a part of the initial orientation of a new team member.
• Fully complies with all safety rules and procedures and wears personal protective equipment.
• Ensures that working areas are kept clean and tidy in accordance with company 5S housekeeping standards.

• Hydraulic and pneumatics, all bolts and tools, leak tester robot.
• Removing, installing and setting -up cast and trim tools, leak testers and robot programs, and die changes.
• Troubleshooting DCM faults.
• Checking shot end tip, lube and cooling, rod coupling, all bolts and hoses
• Shot speeds and firing points.
• Checking metal pour time and pump temperature, flow of argon cap, siphon pump pressure, shot pressure, clamping force, die temperature, flow of hydraulics, reciprocator process.
• Checking levels and flash in quench tank.
• Checking furnace bath level, temperature, burnt wires, SF6/ NOVEC gauges
• Process/ quality checksplug gage checks, CMM layout (where available), visual.
• Safety: Complete safety checks before each shift
• Working in a safe, efficient and skillful manner, promoting high quality workmanship attending to scrap bins, conveyor and shaker, cleaning off level probes, checking pouring end of metal pump, checking quench tank
• Adhere to company lockout policy as required.
• Clean die face when need
