  • This is to inform you that you have been accepted into Red River College Polytechnic/Urban Circle’s 2026-2027 Health Care Aide/Health Unit Clerk Program pending submission of the following: (1) funding approval for your personal cost of living; (2) your official
  • Current and acceptable criminal record check with the vulnerable sector check for entrance requirements; (3) your official
  • Current and acceptable child abuse registry check for entrance requirements; (4) your official
  • Current and acceptable adult abuse check for entrance requirements; (5) your official school transcripts to confirm your grade 12 education; and (7) confirmation you have stable housing throughout the program months.
  • Current = must be dated 6 months prior to program start date
  • The Health Care Aide/Health Unit Clerk Program starts on August 31, 2026, and ends on June 18, 2027. Classes are full-time, Monday to Friday from 9:00AM to 4:30PM.
  • This program will be offered in-class and off-site for the lab skills. It is essential for all students enrolled in the program to have access to desktop with camera/mic, laptop, cell phone and Wi-Fi to complete their academic assignments.
  • You will be funded by Neeginan Education, Training and Employment Services (NETES), who will cover the following:
  • 1) Tuition costs of $10,500.00 will include loaned/borrowed books, modules and supplies. Should you want to purchase your own books to keep, please inform us and we will provide a list.
  • 2) Up to $200 to cover the cost of work clothing allowance for work clinical practicum (3 uniforms, 1 comfortable pair of shoes and a watch with a “seconds” hand). All receipts MUST be submitted to Urban Circle Training Centre Inc. by the student.
  • 3) Immunization vaccines are free at Red River College Health Services. Should you require the TSTs test you would be reimbursed. All receipts MUST be submitted to Urban Circle Training Centre Inc. by the student.
  • 4) The Respiratory Fit Test Mask.
  • 5) The 2nd Criminal Record Check which is required prior to the start of the work clinical practicum. All receipts MUST be submitted to Urban Circle Training Centre Inc. by the student.
  • 6) The 2nd Child Abuse Check which is required prior to the start of the work clinical practicum. All receipts MUST be submitted to Urban Circle Training Centre Inc. by the student.
  • 7) The 2nd Adult Abuse Check which is required prior to the start of the work clinical practicum. All receipts MUST be submitted to Urban Circle Training Centre Inc. by the student.
  • You are required to secure funding for your personal cost of living to support you for the 10 months which include the following (that will be negotiated on an individual basis between you and your funder):
  • 1) A monthly bus pass or transportation costs.
  • 2) Subsidized childcare, if applicable.
  • 3) Cost of a Criminal Record Check including the Vulnerable Sector Search for application registration, to be submitted with application.
  • 4) Cost of a Child Abuse Registry Check for application registration; submitted with application.
  • 5) Cost of an Adult Abuse Registry Check for application registration, submitted with application.
  • Any criminal record checks submitted with convictions will need to go through a different registration process through the Red River College Polytechnic Committee. All convictions must be 5 years or older. Contact Intake Coordinator for more steps to follow.
  • Immunization Process: You will need to complete the attached Red River College Polytechnic Healthcare Program Questionnaire which we will be providing. Once you complete this Questionnaire, please submit to Urban Circle Training Centre Inc., as soon as possible.
  • Students must make their own appointments for the immunization process through Red River College Polytechnic Health Services – follow-up instruction will be provided to you. You will need to complete the immunization process and maintain an up-to-date record of immunizations and tests as a condition of enrollment.
  • Parents choosing to use Makoonsag Intergenerational Children’s Centre: After completing their program of studies at Urban Circle Training Centre Inc., the parent will transition their child(ren) to another childcare centre. The Makoonsag Director and Staff will provide assistance and support well before the end of the parent’s educational program to each family transitioning their child/children. This transition will ensure that spots are available for new students applying to these organizations each year who require childcare to complete their education, while also providing support to transitioning families.
