  • Chairs monthly NCAL TPMG Language Services Managers meetings, fostering communication, collaboration, and best practice sharing to ensure consistency in strategy and operations.
  • Lead centralized operations support for service delivery system wide, to include system standardization of vendor selection, scheduling, performance tracking/ productivity, user systems administration, analytics, expense tracking, management reporting and statistical analysis.
  • Foster relationships with multiple stakeholders and partners (internal and external) and collaborate with leaders, staff, and patients/families to ensure best-in-class language services that meet the diverse needs of those we serve.
  • Accountability and oversight of system-wide contracts with external vendors for Language Services.
  • Establish the Language Services strategic direction, initiatives, and priorities for the system.
  • Ensuring that Language service is leveraged as a regulatory strategy across Kaiser Permanente.
  • Drive excellence by implementing best practices and collaborating with external entities to share experiences and broaden knowledge.
  • Lead the development, implementation and regulatory compliance of Language Services’ policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all regulatory, accreditation and industry standard requirements are met on a continual basis.
  • Direct the operations and people management of the Language Access Services Department, recognized as the subject matter expert.
  • Direct the interpreter and translators across NCAL teams in providing exceptional language services to support inpatient.
  • Manages the Qualified Bilingual Interpreter programs such as recruitment, policy, training and lead ongoing prep-workshops with objective to increase pass rate of language assessment.
  • Acts as the designated Spanish translation specialist for essential documents.
  • Delivers expert Spanish translation of critical documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Manages document translation program and processes while maintaining translation repository.
  • Enhances Language Access policy and maintains guidelines.
  • Responsible for Language Services and Access portfolio across the system to maintain compliance, manage staff, act a liaison to the language vendor partners (agency, video, phone, translation, assessments), review and monitor data and create and provide language education.
