- Create a welcoming environment for new and returning community members, orient new community members to the shelter and answering questions.
- Complete shelter intake as needed including professionally and accurately documenting community members information and orienting new guests to shelter policies and procedures.
- Enter community members information into the shelters reporting program database.
- Treat community members with professionalism by listening actively, preserving community members confidentiality and maintaining patience in difficult situations.
- Manage and report on all incidence.
- Provide community members with blankets, towels, hygiene products, nutrition, clothing and other items.
- Assist community members with support services, such as addiction recovery program applications and information, referrals, to the nursing or medical supports, engage in housing conversations and make referrals to the housing departments.
- Monitor all areas including sleeping areas and rest rooms periodically.
- Solve problems proactively and creatively to maintain a safe environment and enable clients to continue assessing the shelter.
