- During my time at Mullens Farm I carried out farm chores consisting of feeding cattle, checking and detecting sick cattle, cleaning cattle pens, administering medication, assisting with calving, basic maintenance of vehicle and machinery, fences gates and walls.
- I was committed to my role and worked long hours during harvest time this was from 0800hrs-2300hrs at night.
- When the owner was absent due to holiday and market time I was put in charge of caring for the calves.
- In May-June time we started seeding to produce crops of hay, barley and corn.
- In August we started to harvest this consisted of handling the auger, moving machinery, tractors, and trucks to new sites.

- I was working for a company called ULS based in Calgary, we attend local businesses and housing units to clear snow from parking lots, city sidewalks, handicap stalls and community areas, whilst doing this I operate a commercial snow blower called a Gravely.
Namaka farms

- When I started at Namaka farms I was trained to process and handle cattle.
- I dealt with incoming cattle, vaccinations, castrations and delivering the cattle to their pens.
- Whilst the cattle are in their pens I would care for them until they were mature enough to sell.
- I would also pen ride which consists of riding horses into cattle pens to pull any sick, or injured animals out.
- In the summertime I learnt how to drive a CAT scraper, it required me to listen to instructions, pay attention to detail and take safety precautions, as this was a dangerous piece of equipment.
- During the summer I was chosen to be involved in a work trip down to Saskatchewan for planting season.
- Whilst there I learnt how to drive a CASE 600 tractor and learnt how to disc.
- Discing is where you use a Power Take Off which digs up the top layer of soil this allows the seeder to come behind and plant seeds.
- My role also consisted of building pens from the ground up, I had to measure out distances and cement posts in, I then had to line the 4 2x6’s panels up with the post’s, I then covered the remaining holes with slabs of wood a hand width apart.
- RAT program Summer 2014 During the summer of 2014 I worked under the supervision of a Heavy Duty mechanic in his 3rd year of his Journey mans qualification.
- During this time I gained 200hrs experience, working on school buses.
Appleyard Land& Cattle
- While I worked at appleyard I was the extra hand anytime a feedlot/feed yard needed help checking pens, processing or reimplanting, I was the who was sent to those places to assist in those duties.
- I have also racked and baled hay, hauled hay from the fields and spreaded manure and have done cleaning of alleys with skid steers.
