DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Inputs, maintains and retrieves data such as absentees, attendance, student records, demographics, school accounts and budget data, using a computer. • Uses a computer to type a variety of confidential and non-confidential materials such as teacher reports, student records, newsletters, month-end reports and report cards. • Files and maintains a variety of materials such as confidential and non-confidential correspondence, newsletters and student files. • Answers inquiries and relays messages from parents, students, staff and the public both by telephone and in person. • Assists with registration of new students. • Maintains school accounts in accordance with School Accounting Procedures including cash receipts and disbursements, petty cash reimbursements, bank deposits and reconciliations, HST rebates and year-end financial reports. • Sorts and distributes incoming mail and may pick up and deliver to post office. • Composes routine correspondence. • Reviews monthly budget print-out and reports discrepancies relating to items such as purchase orders. • Requests and forwards student files. • Maintains absentee records on District AMS. • Duplicates, sorts, collates and staples materials. • Completes a variety of forms and reports such as requisitions, Ministry forms, labels, student enrolment and suspension reports. • Maintains adequate inventory of office and general supplies, ensures accuracy of incoming orders and submits discrepancy reports. • Coordinates year-end inventory of office equipment and furniture. • Supervises clerical employees as required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Receives, opens, sorts, date stamps and distributes all incoming mail.
• Collects, weighs, meters, sorts, bundles, and distributes all outgoing mail.
• Maintains records of postage used by schools and departments.
• Monitors postage on hand and refills meter as required.
• Performs printing finishing work, as required
• Distributes and collects mail throughout School Board Office.
• Contacts couriers and shipping companies as required.
• Distributes forms to schools as requested including supplies and requisition forms, timesheets and
other requisition forms.
• Stocks shelves with paper supplies.
• Operates equipment such as postage meter, computer, electronic scale, and mail slicer.
• Performs other assigned comparable duties which are within the scope of knowledge, skills and
abilities required by this class specification.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Ensures that students are safe and are following school rules. • Supervises students inside and outside the school during lunch period. • Approaches strangers on or around the playground to ascertain who they are. • Assists in solving minor student conflicts (physical/verbal). • Reports any incident of a major consequence to the Principal. • Administers minor first aid and ensures appropriate medical attention is received, as required. • Reports to Principal, unsafe or broken playground equipment. • Performs other assigned comparable duties which are within the scope of knowledge, skills and abilities required by this class specification.
