    Strategic Planning & Implementation

  • Took a pivotal role in the design and construction of the new surgery department addition, attending all construction meetings, overseeing operational flow, and coordinating the departmental move. This initiative significantly improved our surgical capacity and patient care efficiency, a testament to the impact of strategic planning and implementation in healthcare. This achievement is a testament to my ability to make a tangible difference in healthcare.
  • Instrumental in creating and executing new surgical service lines including a Pain, Plastics, Orthopedic and Bariatric program at the hospital, providing comprehensive oversight to ensure smooth and efficient clinical operations rollout. This involved designing the operational flow for the service lines, coordinating with regulatory agencies and the hospital, evaluating staffing requirements, conducting inventory audits, managing supply orders, and overseeing the scheduling of admissions, pre-operation, intra-operation, and anesthesiologists.
  • Managed the recruitment process for a new group of Anesthesiologists, who remained with the organization for eight years until their contract expired while simultaneously overseeing the departure of the previous anesthesia group, ensuring a seamless and successful transition to the new team.
  • Developed and implemented a formulary for wound care products, reducing product waste and associated costs. This initiative has contributed to an enhanced standard of patient care for wound healing and a substantial decrease in nursing time allocated to dressing wounds.
  • Leadership & Collaboration

  • Supports and leads various departmental functions, including the coordination of surgeon and anesthesiologist schedules, scheduling of surgical procedures, maintenance of departmental statistics, budgeting for departmental expenses encompassing capital procurements, maintenance of surgeon-specific case logs, coordination with equipment representatives for procedures as per the requests of a surgeon or anesthesiologist, and assisting the department director with daily and long-term departmental operations and objectives.
  • Acts as the departmental representative during state surveys, including Joint Commission and CMS, and is responsible for aiding in the development and execution of quality and project improvement measures within the surgery departments, encompassing both ambulatory and inpatient settings. This role demonstrates my ability to handle high-pressure situations confidently and competently, reassuring my colleagues and superiors.
