My job during volunteering was to work with younger kids enhance their reading skill and vocabulary. Also, I would help with setting up tables, chairs, and making sure my partner felt safe and enjoyed a friendly environment.
During this opportunity for volunteering my job was a assistant coach. With this role my job was to help the younger generation of upcoming kids develop their skills in basketball for example dribbling, passing, shooting, and communication with the team. Also, I would help set up drills for the kids and make sure that they develop their skills in a fun and effective way.
I have a passion for sports soccer and basketball especially. I have been playing soccer since I was four years old and had a pretty successful experience in it as we were the best team coming out of Abbotsford placing second in the province. soccer taught me a lot about working hard to see results, managing what your priorities are, working together as a team and makin sure communication is on point for a great result. I also played basketball throughout middle school up until grade 9 bust I still play for fun in mens league. Basketball also made me realize how important it is to keep in touch with your teammates and coach because growing together can make a better team. It also taught me how to deal with different kinds of people for example not getting frustrated with the refs oe other players on the team.
