Developing a Hybrid Power System Alongside the 401 Highway
The deployment, and the appraisal of a groundbreaking 46 MW hybrid system, which runs along Ontario's 401 Highway, one of North America's highways having the heaviest traffic. The main idea of the project is to make it work on the technology that can grab the unutilized wind and solar energies with vertical-axis wind turbines and photovoltaic panels connected to the highway infrastructure to achieve Canada's renewable energy targets. The criterion was developed which was mainly made up of energy efficiency, environmental impact, community engagement, regulatory implementation and financial viability at the project’s commencement.
