Continuous Improvement Engineer
- Implement lean manufacturing principles such as 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, and Just-in-Time (JIT) production.
- Conduct Gemba walks to observe processes firsthand, engage with employees, and gather insights for improvements.
- Lead Six Sigma projects to reduce process variation and improve product quality like testing new PVC 3D printed sill to replace aluminum sills for doors.
- Develop and implement standardized work procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency. Also, create maintenance standards, schedules and programs for each machine.
- Conduct training sessions for employees on continuous improvement techniques, lean principles, and problem-solving methods.
- Analyze costs of production and perform break-even analysis.
- Design and conduct time studies for various saws, corner cleaners and CNC machines to identify inefficiencies and control production.
- Analyze production data and prepare reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) especially cycle time and throughput.
- Create process maps and flowcharts to document current and improved processes.
- Implement cost-saving measures without compromising product quality or safety. For example: calculate number of sills you can cut from one length to minimize aluminum waste.
- Work with IT and engineering teams to create QR codes for materials and process completion status codes to streamline processes, minimize downtime and track production.
- Led root cause analyses to identify and address problems which are recurring, present findings to upper management and implement solutions expeditiously.
