•Provide support to shelter clients and assist with day-to-day tasks such as serving food, assigning beds, conducting intakes, assisting staff with discharge of clients.
• Apply techniques of Trauma Informed Care and assist clients’ find temporary shelter housing and overnight respite care.
• Apply techniques of Conflict Resolution and de-escalation techniques
• Conduct hourly high-risk checks at Delta Hotel Program as well as wellness checks to meet the high demand of client safety and well-being program.
• Participate in daily client program and assist with program delivery to encourage client engagement.
• Maintain logs of harm reduction supplies and report information in Shelter Management Information system pertaining to client safety and any other important information pertinent to clients.
• Report discrepancies to maintain inventory safe checklist.
• Respond to medical emergencies related to overdose and administer naloxone if required and report incident as needed to maintain incident logs.
• Provide support to Tenants on premises by
ensuring Tenant safety and compliance of Guest policy.
• Direct Tenants to appropriate support resources and assistance
from Community Engagement Work staff.
• Apply techniques of Conflict Resolution and de-escalation
techniques as applicable when faced with challenging situations,
i.e. denying access to individual who have been issued NTO under
Trespass to Property Act.
• Inform Property Services of any emergency related
discrepancies and subsequently advise guests to submit complete
work order requests as needed.
• De-escalate conflict amongst tenants and provide support as
needed in completion of Tenant Action Reports.
• Ensure paperwork pertaining to Guest sign/out and contractor
sign in and out is completed and filed.
• Ensure Tenant areas are kept safe and maintained to sustain
safety and security standards of YWCA.
• Respond to medical, elevator and other property related
emergencies, maintain paper trail via emails and forwards any
concerns to housing and property services teams.
