- Undertake assessment, planning and implementation of inventions for addressing patient care problems
- Evaluate patient response to inventions and modify plans as needed
- Maintain a therapeutic patient care environment
- Manage aggression of patients in the ward
- Discuss treatment of conditions with patients and relatives where applicable and encourage them to ask questions
- Admitting, discharging and documentation of patient’s data
- Evaluate care programs for patient
- Counsel patients and relatives
- Monitor the effects of psychotropic medications and other treatments
- Serve as liaison between patients and doctors to ensure patients understanding of treatment
- Comply with the quality assurance policy and guidelines and work within the prescribed quality standards for the nursing care
- Supervise other staff nurses and students under my care.
