Anvita Johari

As an assistant teacher volunteer, I helped students in Mathematics and English, grading their homework and clearing their dubiety when necessary. This allowed me to not only complete my community service hours, but also understand the difference between having knowledge and catering said-knowledge according to the audience. I gained more patience and people- management skills as well as communication skills.

I attended Kumon and studied there myself so being able to teach at the same institution, was a full-circle moment for me, giving me not only an outlook onto how a professional career can look like, but also how satisfying serving others can be.

Working at my mother's start-up english company, which teaches business English to corporate employees, allowed me to gain insight on the ever growing commercial world of Latin America in the heart of one of the most thriving metropolitan cities, São Paulo.
