Annie Mackinnon

• Preaching team:

- Attended monthly meetings with the lead pastor and other staff members in order to gain understanding about the craft of preaching.

- Delivered two stage announcements to the church in order to grow preaching and teaching experience.

• Kids ministry team:

- Praying for all children and families within my care throughout the week whilst planning and preparing for the sessions.

- Welcoming all children warmly upon arrival. Striving to building rapport with the children and connection with parents so everyone can feel reassured and loved, facilitating a peaceful transition time.

- Implementing appropriate program activities for up to 15 preschool-aged children, leading them through structured playtime, engaging in worship, and participating in an active Bible study. Reinforcing learning by directing them through a craft and prayer.

- Ensuring connection with parents at departure time, aiming to send families into their week well.

- Maintaining attendance records throughout the session and reporting to the kids' ministry pastor when required.

- Supervising the grade 7 room assistant and building connections for their growth.

• Grant Fundraiser:

- Working closely with the president to secure grant funding for the college.

- Engaging and interviewing various suppliers for contract work.

- Contract reviews.

- Engaging with fundraising organisations.

- Successfully granted an ASIP grant fund from Alberta Government for new facility security infrastructure.

• Classroom and field trip volunteer

- Helped as a voluntary teacher's assistant in elementary school classrooms from kindergarten through to grade 2 to facilitate teaching program.

- Helped lead various groups on a variety of school field trips.

• Bible Study coordinator:

- As part of my degree practicum, and in the absence of any corporate Bible study provision at the church, I designed an eight-week small group Bible study program based on Acts 24-28. This was in accordance with the sermon series calendar and it was piloted across the church's small group ministry.

- Worked with the assistant lead pastor to design small group infrastructure and growth strategy.

• Preaching team:

- As part of my degree practicum, I attended preaching internship for 3 months. This involved attending weekly meetings with the lead pastor and four other cohort members, helping to shape and evaluate each sermon.

- Prepared and preached a sermon on transformation from Acts chapter 2 on 21 July 2024.

• Communion team:

- Helped set up and break own the weekly communion table for a year.

• Choir member:

- Attended weekly choir rehearsals and performed in various choir engagements for the church.

• Challengers, Guildford:

- A volunteer "play leader" for six months as part of the Duke of Edinburgh Award bronze scheme. (Challengers is a daycare centre for children under 18 years of age with mental and physical disabilities).

- Responsibilities included: facilitating structured play with children, help with feeding and cleaning children, occasionally being involved in pick up from their homes.

• Southampton Residential Care Home facility:

- Responsibilities included all manner of care (feeding, bathing, dressing, talking with residents) over a 12 hour shift, four days on, four days off.

• Worship team:

- Attended weekly worship team practise

- Sung and performed in various worship team engagements.

• Kids ministry:

- Preschool leader assistant, twice a month. Responsibilities included praying for and settling in new families, facilitating the preschool program activities.

- Helping to set up and improve the existing program structure, including safeguarding measures.

• Homegroup leader:

- Co-ordinated and ran a weekly home group bible study for one year in accordance with Hillsong UK stipulations as well as attending monthly home group leader training meetings.

• New Christians team:

- Responsible for engaging all new Christians that had responded to an alter call during the weekly church service, building connections for them, helping them to integrate into the life of the church. - I served on this team for a couple of years.

• Kid's ministry:

- Helped co-lead and grow a kid's ministry of 50 children at Hillsong Leatherhead from grade 1 to 5.

- Welcomed and registered all children upon arrival, lead group games.

- Facilitated teaching, prayer and worship sessions whilst also being a small group leader during sessions, encouraging personal learning and growth and connection.
