  • Arrive early to set up Picket site at the start of shift and take it down at shift change/end of shift
  • Greet Picketers at start of shift
  • Verify Picketers are correctly signing in and out daily
  • Make sure Picket site was kept clean and all garbage picked up and disposed of properly
  • Build Moral
  • Answer Strike and Union questions
  • Direct Picketers to higher Union Representatives when Picketers wanted to go above Picket Captains
  • Verify the spelling of names for each Picketer for Cheques and attendance
  • Enter daily hours for each Picketer on Spreadsheet at end of each shift
  • Total weekly hours entered on the spreadsheet for each Picketer at site
  • Verify all Cheques were received for each Picketer
  • Cross check hours with pay
  • Distribute pay to Picketers and have them sign for Cheque
  • Field questions on errors of pay, hours or missed hours.
  • Reach out either through email or phone about errors to have it corrected quickly when possible
  • Communicate with Picket Captains of other sites about visiting Picketers
  • Log and report all donations daily
