Community Engagement Expert

Road Rehabilitation and Improving Connectivity of Road Infrastructure in Barbados
  • I was a consultant for a project that was funded by the Inter-American Development Bank and implemented by the Ministry of Works and Water Resources in Barbados
  • I developed and implemented a stakeholder engagement exercise that involved consultations with community members from two mixed used neighbourhoods and discussed the road safety situation and potential traffic calming measures
  • I developed a series of community engagement protocols for the Ministry of Works and Water Resources, inclusive of a monitoring and evaluation framework to assess progress and address community grievances

  • I was a consultant for a project that was co-funded by the European Union and a consortium led by Interarts, an NGO based in Spain, with WOMEN AGAINST RAPE (WAR), an NGO based in Antigua and Barbuda, and the University of West Indies (UWI), a higher education institution in the English speaking Caribbean, as associated partner
  • I engaged in research that contributed to a published report entitled Issues Related to Stigma, Discrimination and Human Rights of LGBTI People in Antigua and Barbuda
  • I helped to conduct a literature review, engaged in desk research, reviewed existing legislation and identified relevant regional and international conventions that the Government should ratify
  • I also helped to finalize the research methodology proposal which was approved by a national ethics board
