Serve as a backup Charge RN, supervising nursing staff, coordinating multidisciplinary workflow, managing staffing needs, and supporting team communication.
Assist in precepting and mentoring new nursing staff members, providing education, clinical oversight, and constructive feedback, and ensuring safe practice care by following workplace policies.
Provide thorough assessments and comprehensive care to a diverse population of cardiac telemetry and medical-surgical patients, including those with arrhythmias, heart failure, post-catheterization recovery, open-heart surgery, and complex comorbidities. Promptly notifying physicians and initiating appropriate interventions when necessary.
Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms with accuracy; manage telemetry alarms, and respond promptly to changes in patient status, including acting as a Monitor Tech when needed.
Safely administer medications in accordance with clinical guidelines, monitoring closely for side effects, and intervening promptly when necessary.
Collaborate effectively with physicians, respiratory therapists, and case managers to develop individualized care plans.
Facilitate communication among patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care, understanding, and support.
Served on the Partnership Council Meeting (PCM), contributing to end-of-year performance improvement initiatives and unit-based quality projects.
Demonstrated resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic, caring for numerous patients while adapting to rapid clinical changes and resource limitations.
