· Coordinate Outpatient same day add on procedures with admitting insuring they have authorization, orders, and consent

· Communicate with Sterile Processing Department after booking a procedure to pick the case

· Updating operating room schedule to prevent delays throughout the day

· Keeping track of surgery cancellations and rescheduling them as needed

· Provide on-the-job training for new hires

· Prepared to handle emergency surgeries by adjusting the schedule and notifying the surgical team as necessary.

· Maintain open and clear communication with healthcare professionals, including surgery vendors who assist in the surgeries, regarding surgery schedules, delays, and any changes.

· Communicate with surgeons to confirm surgery dates, times, and any special requirements or equipment needed.

· Coordinate anesthesia for all elective and emergent same-day add-ons, as well as for MRI, IR, Cathlab, and CVOR procedures.

· Billing inpatient hospital charges such as surgicel, surgical bra's, splints, etc.

· Answer telephone calls to provide hospital information, answer questions, and direct calls to staff, while also informing families with surgery updates as necessary.

· Communicate with physicians and anesthesiologist when patients are prepped and ready for surgery

· Maintaining a smooth flow in the operating room while assisting staff and employees with their needs.

· Responsible for maintenance of the department equipment and follow up equipment in need of repairs

· Place new supply orders, manage inventory and restock clerical spaces.
