I am a 23-year-old individual who has aspired to become a law enforcement officer from a young age. My interest in law enforcement began in childhood and continued to grow throughout my academic years. While in high school, I actively pursued this goal by participating in the Border Patrol Explorer Program, where I gained early exposure to the responsibilities, discipline, and values required in the profession.
Upon turning 18, I applied to become a Border Patrol Agent. I successfully completed all phases of the hiring process except for the polygraph examination. After fulfilling the required two-year waiting period for reapplication, I reapplied and once again completed the process, receiving the same outcome regarding the polygraph.
Following this experience, I remained committed to my goal of serving my community through law enforcement. I shifted to my alternative plan and made the decision to pursue a career in local law enforcement by enrolling in the police academy, continuing my dedication to public service and professional development.
