I am a first year Engineering student (will be a sophomore in the 2024 Fall term) currently residing in Linden House. Although I do not have formal work experience, I do however have a lot of volunteering experience that has developed essential skills that are useful for this job. My roles as President of Student government and a leader at my high school residence have also enhanced my skills and experience. I am a confident, enthusiastic and outgoing individual with the ability to initiate projects and ensure that they are successful.
I promote public awareness on social injustices such as racism and sexism. I help support other students in their life journeys by telling them mine, how I overcame obstacles and what they taught me. The goal is to create a safe space on campus with the aim of reducing social injustices.
With the help of an occupational therapist, I facilitated various activities such as teaching the children with special needs how to read, write, count, balance, and distinguish different shapes and colors. In the morning I took the register and thereafter helped with hand-muscle development by utilizing clay.
